Top 10 Countries I Want To Visit Before I Die

Trying to sort out travel souvenirs and paraphernalia is not only a daunting task but unfortunately it always gives me that ‘travel itch’ that I just have the need to scratch. In no particular order and no set time frame, these are the places that hopefully and with a bit of luck, I’ll be able to explore in the distant future. I say distant because I have no plans whatsoever to drive myself crazy this year or next by attempting the impossible.

1. **Antarctica –

This is not really a country since it is not ruled by any governing body. But for me, this will define my quest to travel to the ends of the earth. To set foot in the White Continent is my ultimate dream.

2. Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan will not be that easy to visit nor will it be cheap. But it’s culture, history and just to be able to see the Taktsang Palphug Monastery will be worth every penny. Maybe a side trip to the Himalayas too? 🙂

3. India

In my quest to visit all the wonders of the world, India is definitely a place I look forward to visiting, if only for the Taj Mahal. With a helicopter ride for an aerial view picture of the Taj Mahal please!

4. Egypt

I’m sure like most people, the main reason to visit Egypt would be the Pyramids. That’s my primary purpose as well. But I would probably (hopefully) spend most of my days at the north of Egypt visiting Alexandria and cruising the Nile.

5. Jordan

I am dying to see PETRA and Jerash.

6. Mongolia

Mongolia is one of the places that we studied when I was a bit younger. Having heard all the stories, I know how rich their culture is. And I know that they have magnificent landscapes that cannot be found anywhere else.

7. Kenya

A couple of years ago, I saw a pictures taken in Kenya – safaris, African buffaloes, vast uninhabited lands, which made me fall in love with the place. How can I not want to visit a country filled with free roaming, beautiful animals? How can I not want to visit a place that can make me appreciate more what mother nature has to offer?

8. Iceland

I don’t know that much about Iceland but I always enjoy visiting places that are unique in their own right. I know Iceland’s culture is different from the other European Nations that I’ve been to and of course it’s a plus that they have picturesque landscapes as well.

9. Bolivia

If I could, I would visit each and every country in South America. But what intrigues me and scares me at the same time are the Salt Flats. There have been horror stories about visiting the flats but if I get here somehow, I would still take a chance and visit them.

10. South Africa

This is a fairly easy place to visit. But I talked it over with my husband and we agreed that it might not be wise to go while our son is still young. With all the shots that we need to get, it sort of makes us paranoid about the possible sicknesses that we might catch while on the trip. But in truth, after looking at all the places that I’ve written down, this will probably be one of the first to be crossed out.

Here’s to inspiring, exciting future travels everyone! 🙂
