Captured In Time: Angkor Wat, Cambodia

007. THE WARMTH OF THE MORNING SUN

Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is probably one of the most photographed temples in this world and deserves to be so. But keep in mind that Angkor Wat is only one of the numerous temples that you can see around Angkor. The Angkor temples with its rich history is truly a magnificent place to visit.

Like most tourists we went to Angkor Wat before sunrise and waited. I stood there watching the sun slowly fill the temple complex with its light and I was truly amazed. So I took this picture to remind me of the most beautiful sunrise that I’ve come across in my life.

006. A RIDE TO REMEMBER

Norway Flamsbana

Norway is one spectacular country. I fell in love with its magnificent cities and towns. I fell in love with the kind and approachable people. I fell in love with the beautiful landscape. And one particular journey that will forever be etched in my heart was our trip from Flåm to Myrdal. The ride on the Flåmsbana (the Flåm railway from Flåm to Myrdal or vice versa), one of the steepest in the world, was one of the most beautiful 20 km train rides I’ve ever been on (and I’ve been on a lot). We saw mountains, rivers & waterfalls. I do not think I’ve ever seen such an amazing view. So Norway, I will definitely be back – thank you for surprising me with your beauty.

Captured In Time: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

005. A DESERT’S CLOVERLEAF

dubai united arab emirates

Scorching heat + sand + urban life = Dubai. This shot was taken from the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Visiting Dubai really felt like being trapped inside a sand globe –  where the heat was constricting and I just didn’t know when sand-filled “breezes” would come. Going back to the hotel and going around their DAZZLING (beautiful!!!) and expensive malls saved us. It was just a tad too hot for me and to think that we were there during the “cooler” months (October). But Dubai was pretty remarkable – it’s unbelievable what they were able to do with their city.

004. ON TOP OF THE WORLD

jungfraujoch switzerland

Visiting Jungfraujoch in Switzerland, also popularly know as “Top of Europe” was one of the most memorable moments in my life. The view was breathtaking and the journey (via the Jungfraubahn) was just as spectacular. I adore everything Swiss but more importantly I am totally and utterly in love with this beautiful country. So forgive me in advance if I will end up uploading a lot of pictures from this lovely part of the world. Switzerland, I miss you but someday I will see  you again…

Captured In Time: Coron, Palawan

003. AT DAY’S END

Coron Palawan Sunset

I love sunsets as much as most people due to the lack of it in my hometown. Coron is the opposite of Manila – quiet, relaxing and the air is clean. I was lucky enough to witness its spectacular sunset after a long day of touring the islands around Coron proper.

Captured In Time: Grand Central Station, New York City

002. GRAND CENTRAL STATION: THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE

grand central station new york

The lovely city of New York can be described in one word: chaotic. I love this shot because I think that it partly shows how beautiful and busy New York is – no matter where in the city you go. I loved standing on the balcony watching hordes of people rush in and out of the station.  I’m just simply fascinated with New York 🙂

Captured In Time: A Traveler’s Photo Project

I would often find myself looking through my digital photos trying to attempt to sort them out and upload them. Among these photos are countless of travel photographs that I’ve taken since I started using a DSLR camera more than 5 years ago. My husband would often try to persuade me into editing some of them and uploading them to my flickr site (which hasn’t been updated in ages!). But because of the volume of pictures that I just end up leaving them alone. My photos may not be fabulous but I would like to believe that some of them at least capture my own travel experience.

So I though of this project to motivate me to upload and share with you at least some of my favorite travel photos, one picture at a time 🙂

001. I LEFT MY HEART IN PARIS

A Beautiful Paris Sunset

This is one city that I would love to keep going back to. Paris is a place that everyone must see at least once, no matter how overrated it may seem. It is definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to and experienced.
